Pandeli

Being recognized as 'the school of gastronomy' by the public opinion, Pandeli Restaurant reached the peak in terms of taste in early 1900's and possesses this reputation in Istanbul even now. The Master Pandeli - an Anatolian Greek, shared his drink and delicious dishes with several famous figures such as state dignitaries, writers, ambassadors and artists.

This is the restaurant where Mustafa Kemal Ataturk also used to come for eating. The particular feature of the Master Pandeli is his creativity of various local dishes. To name a few, his pastry stuffed with eggplant, sea bass baked in parchment, pilaki (beans with oil and onions), sariburma (Sultan's turban dessert), pastrami baked in parchment could be listed.
