Belvoirpark

Probably the most beautiful of Zurich’s parks. Belvoirpark is idyllically placed on a hillside on the western lakeshore, with an excellent view onto the lake, the city centre and the Alps. A pond with a fountain, exotic trees and flowers and benches invite you to rest after a long sightseeing day. The park was built around 1826 by Heinrich Escher-Zollikofer as a private garden for his villa. After his and his ancestors’ death some wealthy Zürcher saved the park from demolition. In 1901 the city bought the park and opened it to the public. The villa now hosts the restaurant Belvoirpark and a gastronomy school.
